Get Weed VA!

As of July 1st 2021 Weed is legal in Virginia and thats about the only thing you can thank Ralph Northam for. No Ralph, no one has forgotten about that but good job on trying to redeem yourself so you can get re-elected in the future. Prior to this new law, you could get a felony wrap and 5 years in jail for one ounce and to put that in perspective getting caught carrying just one vape cartridge, or one very small amount of weed could have landed your tail in jail. Something as simple as a busted tail light or a dui checkpoint could have led to years in the klink.

Now you can legally possess up to 1 ounce and have no more than 4 plants in your home. At the same time it was already legalized in DC and Maryland.
On November 2nd, Virginia residents can vote on whether or not the sale of cannabis will be legalized and this law would not take effect until 2024. All of the sales provisions have to be approved by legislature after this first is passed.
Once those laws are put in motion we can expect to see the beginning of a whole new side of Virginia. So what does this mean exactly? It means that adults 21 and older can smoke in their homes, and can share 1 ounce of weed with another person. So sharing is legal now, which is funny because potheads have been sharing all along-its part of our culture. It’s very interesting because the fine for having more than 1 ounce, and less than 1 pound is $25 ticket. Say what?! Basically, if you have up to 15 ounces of weed on your person you get a ticket for $25. That’s what they are not telling you on mainstream media. Interesting right? Now, here are the things that could still land you a felony: Sale of 1oz to 5lbs will get you 1-10, sale of 5 lbs to 100kg will get you 5-30, sale to a minor who is at least 3 years younger will get you a max of 50 years, so will selling on school property and manufacturing product. In closing, it’s legal to have it, and share it and smoke it but we can buy and sell it. At least not yet.
