OG Kush, or ‘Premium OG Kush,’ is almost universally agreed to have originated in Florida sometime between 1977 and 1991, although the details vary depending on whom one asks; the story most commonly told is that it was grown in Florida by simply crossing the Northern California marijuana strain with Chemdawg, Lemon Thai, and Hindu Kush Matterhorn that had been imported from Amsterdam.
