Wine and Weed

I personally love wine, and to me each glass is a unique experience. There are days I want a glass of white, then there are days I prefer rose, red, or sparkling… it all changes with the weather, meal I'm eating, or even day I've had. 

This might be new to some of you, but weed and Cannabis share many things in common. In fact, weed is very complex like wine, with copious similarities between measures, such as aromas, flavors, and textures. When paired together they can actually bring out additional notes, characteristics and can have more powerful dynamics.

One thing that makes wine and cannabis pairings more compelling than wine and food pairings is the fact that not only does the wine influence the consumer’s state of consciousness, so does the cannabis. Red wine, for instance, lends itself to a warm and cozy—even romantic—buzz. Certain strains can have similar effects and compliment that toastiness.

However, you still have to be mindful of the effects of each individual substance as you pair them. Smoking a sleepy indica and polishing off two glasses of a heavy red may cause you sleep on your guests. If you know red wine tends to wind you down for the evening, opt for an energy-packed sativa or hybrid to balance things out instead, unless your goal is to hit the sack or mellow out into a bubble-bath nap, always remember to consume in moderation when pairing any kind of cannabis and alcohol.
